ADHF Study Grants for Indigenous Dental Hygienist and Oral Health Therapy Students

The Australian Dental Health Foundation offers up to 5 Study Grants to students of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background who are undertaking a course of study that will lead to registration as a Dental Hygienist or Oral Health Therapist.

The Grants will be open to applications from 1 March and close on 30 April each year.  Applicants will be advised of the outcome by 30 June.

Applications will be reviewed by the Study Grant Review Panel appointed by the ADHF Advisory Board.

Each grant is valued at $5,000.

Selection Procedure

Applicants are required to complete the Application Form.  The Study Grant Review Panel will evaluate applications using unweighted criteria.  Unweighted criteria are most appropriate, because they allow the review panel maximum flexibility to apply their professional judgement in the full evaluation of each individual application.

Applicants must be:

  • An Australian resident and of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background
  • Currently enrolled in a program of study in Australia leading to registration as a dental hygienist or an oral health therapist.
  • Able to provide a reference from a representative of an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander organisation.

The decision of the Study Grant Review Panel will be final and is not subject to appeal by an applicant.  The ADHF reserves the right not to distribute grant monies if suitably qualified applicants cannot be found.

Study Grant Review Panel

The Panel comprises the ADHF Advisory Board Chair, the Vice-Chair, one other Advisory Board member, and may include other persons as appointed by the Board.
