ADHF Study Grants for Indigenous Dental Hygienist and Oral Health Therapy Students

The Australian Dental Health Foundation (ADHF) is offering up to 5 study grants to students of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background who are undertaking a course of study that will lead to registration as a Dental Hygienist or Oral Health Therapist.

The ADAF is a charitable institution that has been established to improve the oral health of all Australians through its participation in activities to promote the prevention or control of oral diseases and conditions.

The Foundation has been established by dentists under the auspices of the Australian Dental Association (ADA).

The ADHF Indigenous Dental Hygienist Student Study Grants will be open to applications from 1 March 2017 and close on 30 April 2017.  Applicants will be advised of the outcome 30 June 2017.

Applications will be reviewed by the Study Grant Review Panel appointed by the ADHF Advisory Board.

The value of each grant will be $5,000.00AUD

Applicants will be required to complete the application form.  The Study Grant Review Panel will evaluate applications using unweighted criteria.  Unweighted criteria are most appropriate, because they allow the review panel maximum flexibility to apply their professional judgement in the full evaluation of each individual application.

Applicants must be:

  • An Australian resident and of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background.
  • Currently enrolled in a programme of study in Australia leading to registration as a dental hygienist or an oral health therapist.

Applications must be supported by a reference from a representative of an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander organisation.

The decision of the Study Grant Review Panel will be final and is not subject to appeal by an applicant.  The ADHF reserves the right not to distribute grant monies if suitably qualified applicants cannot be found.
